Silk for your taste buds, Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk

Have you tasted Silk lately?? Hmmm I’m sure you people are completely aware of what I’m talking about. Quite true, Cadbury Dairy Milk Silk has claimed to be the most delicious chocolate. Well, your mouth’s already watering isn’t it? Cadbury has been a favourite chocolate brand for most of the consumers. The taste itself is so mesmerizing that just one o two pieces isn’t enough to satisfy your taste buds. Give me some more, is what your tongue may ask you.

Ever since I’ve come across the Silk ad, I badly wanted to taste unfortunately products don’t arrive pretty fast in Mangalore and I had to wait. My friends also wanted to taste the chocolate, we couldn’t find them anywhere. Disappointing?? But, when it’s chocolate I really don’t mind the wait. The ad got so much temptation in us, that we dint mind asking the shopkeepers if the Silk has arrived in the market.

Then, finally, when the biggest mall in our city, CITY CENTER opened, I just hoped I’d be able to taste this Silk soon. And then my, actually, our prayers were answered, the hypermarket, SPAR opened at City Centre. Me and My friends, Roydon, Dhiwin and Alok went to the mall on 2nd may to take a look at the hypermarket, that’s where I saw Dairy Milk Silk. We had to attend a competition in an hour’s time so had to leave immediately. I thought it wasn’t gonna happen; I wouldn’t taste my silk, after all??

I guess, it was my lucky day, we won at the competitions. Precisely, we wanted to celebrate, SPAR our destiny. Mammamia, obviously I went the rectangular thing wrapped in plastic. The smell itself was so tempting. We bought the chocolate, was about to open, when I heard the instrumental Om Jai Jagish song being played, then I realised it was my phone ringing. It was my Mom asking me to come home as it was late. My friends wanted to stay back.

But, of course my friends are really sweet, they came with all the way till the entrance, in the way, we ate Dairy Milk Silk. It was really tasty. I don’t know why many of the reviews on the net stated that there wasn’t much difference. I’ll tell you guys, it was awesome, just taste it slowly, you’ll feel the molten chocolate.
It is available in flavours on pure Dairy Milk Chocolate, Roasted Almond and Fruit and Nut. I suggest, go for the pure one first, don’t let the nuts and almonds come in between you and your Silk. You may find it a bit expensive, but later when you find your taste buds crying for more, you’ll realise that it’s worth it.

MIS - the KILLER with the deadly weapon

I have just completed my fourth semester BCA examination. Like all students it does get the burden of your head but I have to make a mention of this horrid subject called “Management Information Systems”.  This subject is silly sick and not meant students in BCA atleast, who find Computers as their ultimate goals. Well, I would like to keep off those machines who run on the lecturers remote controls, who study for the sake of scoring the best marks.

This horrible is surely a nightmare for those who hate to write long answers or people who don’t really have the patience to do so. It’s a bloody damned text book with up to 20 chapters that screw your brains out of your heads. Honestly, it consists of the most stupid topics like Operating Elements of Information System, Model of Communication System, Distributed Systems, Database, Physical vs. logical models of data, Hashed file organization, Index file organization , Sequential file organization, Relational database structure, Transaction processing, Behavioural model of decision phase, Decision making process, Decision tree, Classical economic model, Newell-Simon Model, Cognition theory, Human Machine Systems, Decoupling, Law of Requisite variety, Model of organizational structure, Organizational learning, Levitt Model of Organizational subsystems, 3 stage model of planning process, basic model of organizational structures and many more.

The headings seem so much similar that you have to spend a long time gazing into the questions so that you decide what the answer is for that and then write, that's the worst part. Or you will surely end up writing the answer of “behavioural model of decision making” for the question “behavioural model of decision maker”. Moreover you can see the word “Organisation” taking the highlight. Everywhere you find the word “Organisation” following you. It was fine if it was only following you, these irritate you. It is a wretched subject. This subject has no boundaries. I can’t imagine the plight of my lecturer who managed to complete the syllabus somehow.

We used to discuss the answer by group studying, asking doubts, but barely manage to pass. Even those descendants of Mahatma Gandhiji, were in our category bribing The Almighty, to somehow clear their subjects. My seniors also hate the subject; they were around 20 of them who had a backlog because of this horrible subjects. Even a mere 2 marks worth answer can extend up to pages As far as ten marks answers are concerned, you can stop thinking as they can extend up to a few ten’s at the most. This subject had ruined my peace of mind. As I was speaking to one of my lecturers, it was quite astonishing to hear that even the BBM students have this subject but they are used to this writing job and have no complaints. Now that was shocking but I have no intensions to change my mind "I hate this subject called MIS". We also have a community in orkut for the MIS haters. http://www.orkut.co.in/Main#Community?cmm=59151110, opened by senior, Talen. This community comprises of Aloysians alone but i’m sure this horrid subject has irritated many others.

I profusely thank my lecturer, Mr. Ravindraswamy, who gave us around 60 important questions. Had it not been for him we would have never completed studying let alone clearing it this semester. I’m really happy for getting this big burden off my head and so are my friends.
My lecturer, Mr. Shailendra, has put on his best efforts to help us with the subject I have to extend my thanks to him also.

All that I can say to my dear juniors is that you will also be in our condition on your fourth semester. I’m sure you will in the race to finish this sick subject rather than race for being the topper.Start studying now itself nahi toh bahut baari padne wala hain. Dil pe apne haath rakke bolo All iz Well.

Sygma 2009 - One of the best college festivals I've attended

To start with, I always wanted to be a part of my college Geek team and finally I did get a chance to attend a National level Fest at Puttur. I was happy that I had made a couple of Geek friends and we won several prizes in the fest so I was very much contented and satisfied.
But, the best was yet to come as my geek seniors dint let me go and we attended a few more fests together and I was permanent member in the team of those attending Inter-collegiate fests. And then in the month of November 2009 came ‘SYGMA 09’, a state level technical fest hosted by SDM College, Mangalore.
There were many events like quiz, coding and debugging, treasure hunt, best IT manager, Advertising, dark horse we had a nice team of well versed members and we were quite confident of winning the overalls that year.

There were several rounds in each event and our entire team made it up to the final round in all the events. The winners were not announced as that would be announced in the valedictory function. I was kinda contented this time as we would take away the overalls and our efforts were paid. One of my seniors, a guy, had dressed up as Bipasha Basu as well for the IT manager round and was qualified for the finals. At the same time even the quiz, treasure, hunt, dark horse, coding and debugging, advertising we had reached the finals and done well too.

Then finally came the prize disturbing ceremony. It was a very masaledaar moment for all of us as our efforts were not to be going in vain, we were going to win and impress our Principal. One by one the prizes of each event were being announced. It was quite shocking but we won no prizes except one 2nd place for advertising. We were shattered, my senior was almost in tears as he had really worked hard to look like Bipasha Basu. We dint wanna stay there and we just started off from there. I was going home with my friend in the car when my mobile started vibrating, shattered and disappointed all the worms in my brain were burnt in my fury and I dint want to check the text msg.

And then I got a call, I was raging with anger and picked the call, it was my friend from SDM College and he was asking me where’s my team?? I was already disappointed so I just told him we’ve returned back. And then I got a shock of my life. I heard my friend saying “why the hell are u returning home who will collect your overall’s trophy??” I was not able to believe what I just heard and I asked him o repeat again, he said the same thing, my friend who was with me asked me to call up my senior and confirm.

When I did, I knew that it was true!! We did win the overalls and it was bcoz of our points as we had made it to the finals in all events unlike the other colleges. This was the more masaledaar than the wait for the prize announcing to begin. It was I was shattered and bloomed up again. That day, that moment, that excitement, that happiness was a whole mixture.

We are the only to win the overall championship, just with one 2ND place and nothing else. Finally I did tak my trophy home.
And even this year we won the overalls at Sygma-10 . hopefully we are going to continue our winning streak for the third consecutive year in 2011.
